Good morning, Scott, Ride Illinois is excited to announce that registration for the 2025 Grand Illinois Bike Tour – our largest annual fundraiser – is now open! Proceeds from this event support Ride Illinois' mission to make Illinois better through biking.
Key Details Join us June 8-13, 2025 for the 22nd annual Grand Illinois Bike Tour (GIBT). Our 2025 loop will first make its way from Rochelle to Ottawa, with a layover day to Starved Rock and Illinois River cities the next day. We then continue for a night in DeKalb, home of Northern Illinois University. From there it is off to Rockford, with two nights in Rockford and layover day routes in the area, before returning to Rochelle. The fully-supported tour features overnight stays in hotels. Join us and invite your friends and family too! Choose among daily mileage options for a total distance of 200 to 375 miles, consisting mainly of quiet rural roads as well as some trails. Back for 2025: Three-day Options A limited number of slots are available for three-day tours. With our nearly figure-eight ride pattern, riders who cannot commit to the full six-day tour now have two different options. There will be an option to ride Sunday-Tuesday, with two overnights in Ottawa, or Wednesday-Friday, with two overnights in Rockford. Registration is open now and is limited to 150, so register soon!
