THURSDAY CASUAL RIDE - 9AM from Chandler to Homer&...

Quoted Text

We'll follow Ed Culp's wisdom and look for the coolest route north (depending on wind direction) where we'll loop around Glencoe and then pick the best route back south. Homer's serves great ice cream (also burgers/sandwiches), and we'll only have 3 miles left to go afterwards! Distance approx 20 miles round trip.

The weather forecast looks to be hot & sunny, with temps in the 90s, winds 10 mph. So, we'll stop frequently for shady hydration breaks. If the heat continues to earn an "extreme" rating, then I will cancel the ride so keep an eye on your email.

UPDATE: Health warnings have been downgraded to an "advisory" rating, so I'm willing to lead if you're willing to ride. We'll stay on shady paths & streets as much as possible, take regular hydration stops, and if necessary turn back sooner to cool off with ice cream. Oh, and Homer's is having a "Beat the Heat" deal: 2nd scoop free!
