Google Gilson Park Wilmette for the location. If you are driving, you can park on the residential streets near the park. I believe the parking lot at the beach is free but I have not confirmed this.
The first rest stop will be Northcroft Park at 19 miles. Lunch will be in Lake Forest. Since we may have a large group, we will split up for lunch and meet up afterwards at the train station. Here are two restaurant suggestions:
Ferentino's Pizzeria
824 N. Western Ave.
Hometown Coffee and Juice 231 E Wisconsin Ave.
You also may consider a picnic lunch at Triangle Park.
