On Sunday, August 23, I will lead a 60-mile remote start ride beginning at 9 AM from Bristol Woods County Park in Wisconsin. Please let me (r.z.slaughter@gmail.com) know if you plan to join this ride.
We will ride at the low end of Fast pace. Most of the route is on scenic rural roads. There will be some rolling hills (and maybe a few not-so-rolling). We will have a rest stop in Fox River Park (mile 14), lunch at The Coffee House in downtown Burlington (mile 33 corner of Chestnut and Pine) and a stop at the Dairy Queen in Silver Lake (mile 48). The route is one of the Club's favorites: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/43633474
To avoid a potentially long line at The Coffee House, you can order and pay ahead online: http://www.burlingtoncoffeehouse.com/menu. (If you do this, specify 11:30 am as the pickup time for your order.)
Directions to start: Bristol Woods County Park about 45-60 minute drive from the Evanston area. Take I-94 North. A few miles past the Wisconsin border, take Exit #347 Hwy 165/Cty Q. Turn left (west) at the end of the exit ramp. Go west 2.5 miles on Cty Q. Turn right (north) on Cty MB for 0.8 miles. Turn left into the Bristol Woods park entrance. Follow the park road about 1/4 mile past the picnic shelter at the top of the hill to the Pringle Nature Center.
